Accounts Manager
£50-60K (dependent on experience)
Experienced accountant who enjoys communicating with others? Passionate about supporting small business owners to reach their true potential? A personable manager interested in developing junior team members? We’re looking for you!
Raw’s entering its fifth year of business and going from strength to strength with year-on-year growth and we need an experienced Accounts Manager to join our central Wokingham office.
Why Raw?
We’re a small yet mighty team with big plans! At Raw we’re not bound by the bureaucracy of running a large-scale firm so operate with more flexibility. We thrive on feedback and are always trying to improve the way we work. We value our people both those we employ and the small business owners we work with. We’re committed to making Raw a supportive and engaging workplace! Based in central Wokingham we’re close to lots of local amenities including cafes, shops, gyms and restaurants.
What we offer:
Competitive salary
25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Hybrid working
What does this mean at Raw? A mix of work from home and office work. Typically, we ask for a minimum of two days in the office but as a manager we’d expect you to balance the needs of your role and team. For example, during your first few months you’d be expected to be in the office more/if you were inducting a junior member there would be a need for increased office days.
Flexi-time Friday (core operating hours of 10.00-15.00 adhered to)
Incentive programmes
Training support
Scope to tailor your role
Private healthcare
Team lunches/events
Cycle to work scheme
Central Wokingham office
About the role:
You’ll manage a portfolio of 40-50 small limited businesses covering a range of sectors from eCommerce to construction. As the main client contact you’ll carry out regular check-ins and provide advice and support as needed, on email, over the phone and at times in person. We’re looking for a friendly, jargon-free communicator who’s not afraid to pick up the phone and have a chat!
Initially you’ll manage a team of 3+ apprentices which will grow over time. Our apprentices prepare work across the broad range of services we offer and you’ll be required to provide a technical review process to a high standard. This will involve sharing clear feedback and confidently signing off work at final review stage. At times you’ll find yourself with competing priorities – we’re looking for a calm, structured manager who can balance this. You should be personable and take an active interest in supporting the development of others.
The individual best suited to this role will possess strong leadership qualities. Someone able to input strategically into business decisions, comfortable representing Raw in the absence of our MD, Luke and able to independently deal with and resolve client queries.
What does success look like after 3-6 months?
That’s a great question! Role success is positively impacting the business in the following ways;
Clients feeling supported through quality advice and regular comms
Apprentices feeling supported to perform effectively
Our MD, Luke having time freed up to grow Raw
What support will I receive?
Being a small team, you’ll be supported by everyone, we’re a friendly bunch! That said, it will be our MD, Luke who will be your manager and dedicated mentor. He’s excited to share his industry knowledge and passion for helping others with our new Accounts Manager, which could be you!
Who we’re looking for?
Chartered accountant with 5+ plus years of experience
ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualified
Right to work in the UK
A problem solver who can make data-driven decisions
A friendly communicator who can eliminate the jargon
An experienced manager interested in helping others
